<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The review analyzes of 69 publications and discusses treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis from the standpoint of the influence on immune mechanisms that limit progression of inflammation and damage to lung tissue. Interferon-gamma is the most significant cytokine in tuberculosis infection pathogenesis. The article describes genotypic and phenotypic features of interferon-gamma production in various clinical forms of pulmonary tuberculosis. It presents the data supporting the therapeutic use of recombinant interferon-gamma and results of its clinical use as adjuvant treatment additionally to chemotherapy. It demonstrates the prospects for immunotherapy with Ingaron, the drug manufactured in Russia, for patients with multiple drug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>лекарственно-устойчивый туберкулез</kwd><kwd>терапия хозяина</kwd><kwd>иммунная система</kwd><kwd>интерферон-гамма</kwd><kwd>иммунотерапия</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>drug-resistant tuberculosis</kwd><kwd>host-directed therapy</kwd><kwd>the immune system</kwd><kwd>interferon-gamma</kwd><kwd>immunotherapy</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Баласанянц Г.С., Рузанов Д.Ю.
