Author Guidelines
1. For publication in the journal the soft version of the manuscript is to be forwarded to tbl2015@yandex.ru and additionally the original manuscripts can be forwarded to the following address: Phthisiopulmonology Research Institute (Journal Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases), 4, Dostoyevsky St., Moscow, 127473.
2. The manuscript is to be written in Russian typed double-spaced with 2.5-cm margins, font is Times New Roman, font size -12.
3. The original manuscript should have no more than 6 authors except for multicenter clinical trials. The paper is not to exceed 16 pages, including figures, references, abstract, and key words. Communications on uncompleted or planned investigations are not accepted for publication.
4. Title page is to contain: a) the title of the paper; b) authors’ initials and surname; c) the name of the institution and department (laboratory) where the work has been done; d) city or town; e) country.
5. The manuscript's title is to be as brief as possible, but not abbreviated.
6. Information on each author is to be provided on a separate sheet of paper attached to the manuscript:
1) surname, name, patronymic;
2) position, place of work;
3) complete mailing official address (including ip code) and e-mail;
4) email;
5) official telephone number.
7. All authors must sign the manuscript.
8. The surname, name, and patronymic of the author to whom all correspondence will be addressed by the editorial office, his address (ZIP code), telephone number, and e-mail are to be mandatory provided.
9. The manuscript must present the material in a certain order with obligatorily singling out the following sections in the text:
• Introduction. It is to briefly describe the state of the problem relative only to the subject selected by yourself, stated in the goal of the study (with reference sources).
• Goal of the study: It should be specifically stated.
• Materials and methods. They present methods of analysis without detailed description if they are universally accepted (with reference sources), but with indication of modifications. If they are introduced by the manuscript’s author, the used procedures must be exactly described: their type, doses, temperature, power, duration, etc. Measurements should be expressed in SI units.
When describing the material, it is necessary to take into account ethical standards, to use only conventional classifications, and to indicate all elements of laboratory, experimental, and clinical studies (for example, all the elements of a therapeutic complex, drug dosages should be given). Statistical methods used in this investigation should be denoted.
• Results of the study. They provide a free presentation. Tables, diagrams, and figures that alleviate material perception are favored. Without duplicating each other, a table and/or figure should substitute for a part of the text of the manuscript. The statistical processing of results and the use of evidence-based medicine techniques are required. The digital data of the results of investigations are to be given in absolute and relative values (e.g. 15/60 (25%)). Communications on the need to continue the study or incomplete or planned studies are not welcome.
• Conclusions. They are to briefly present only the data given in the manuscript. They cannot provide new figures and information not contained in the above parts.
10. Tables should be compact, numbered and headed; columns and lines are to be titled according to the data they contain; they are subjected to statistical processing. When the table contains the abbreviations and acronyms not mentioned in the manuscript or symbols (*, **, etc.), their meaning is to be explained in the note under the table. The text of the manuscript should have references to tables.
11. All used formulas should be clearly written using symbols, uppercase and lowercase letters, superscripts, etc.
12. Abbreviations, except for measurements to be expressed only in SI units (kg, g, m, cm, mm, l, ml, V, W, mA, Cu, etc.), are not to be used in the text.
13. Minimal quantity of color figures (photos, plots, diagrams) are to be attached in soft format to the manuscript. The text of the manuscript should have a reference to them; figure captions should be provided on a separate sheet of paper. Figures may be presented in TIFF, BMP, JPEG, PNG, PSD, or TGA formats of maximum available quality.
14. The manuscript is to be provided with references inclusive all publications mentioned in the text. Bibliographic references must be numbered and given in square brackets in the text of the manuscript in the correspondence with the numbers of the list of references given alphabetically: author’s surname and initials (first Russian authors, then foreign ones in their original transcription), all authors of this reference publication must be mentioned:
• For journal articles: title of article, name of journal, year of publication, the volume and number of the journal, and page;
• For books and collection of articles: title (as on the title page), the place (publisher) and year of publication, number of pages;
15. The manuscript (except for brief communications and information) is to provided with an abstract. The abstract is to be brief and clear not exceeding 20 lines. Format: author's surname and initials, title of the paper, text of the abstract.
The abstract text is to be structured as follows: goal of the study; materials and methods; main obtained results.
16. The author is to compile the key words for the manuscript (from 3 to 8 words or phrases), reflecting the main topic of the text.
17. Complementary to the original manuscripts, literature and analytical reviews, lectures, information and historical communications and clinical observations are excepted for publication.
18. Articles previously published or sent to other journals may not be submitted to our editorial office.
19. The editorial staff reserves the right to abridge and modify the text and relevant attachments (figures, curves, etc.) provided by the authors and make some editing changes not compromising the essence of the manuscript.
20. The publisher reviews all materials submitted to the editorial office with the purpose of their expert evaluation including their compliance with the journal profile.
All referees are acknowledged specialists in the topics of the journal profile and their manuscripts have been published in the journal the last 3 years.
The journal uses blind peer reviewing (the referee has no information about the authors, and vice versa). In case of a negative review, manuscripts are not to be published and not sent back to the authors. In case of a positive review, they may be sent to the authors to improve them or to delete items.
Upon the author's inquiry the copy of the review or motivated refusal are provided.
The reviews of the unpublished manuscripts shall be kept for at least 5 years.
21. No fee is paid for the publication of the authors' materials. The editorial office pays no renumeration to the authors.
22. For publication in the journal the soft version of the manuscript is to be forwarded to tbl2015@yandex.ru.

23. All authors must indicate if their manuscript contains financial or any other conflict of interests what can have an impact on the results or understanding of the manuscript.
Should there be no conflict of interest, at the end of the text, under a subheading “Declaration of interests" there should be the following statement: "Authors declare they have no conflict of interests."
24. The manuscripts not complying with all above requirements are not accepted for publication.
